One of the great post-Cold War success stories, Poland represents one of the fastest-growing job markets for teaching English in Europe. English teachers in Poland are constantly in demand. Teachers typically find work towards the beginning of September or October, and again in January. Most contracts end in late June. For those looking to teach through the summer, opportunities at summer English language camps are sometimes available throughout Poland and the whole of Europe. Positions in summer camps typically start in late June and early July.

Qualified Americans and other non-European Union (EU) citizens can interview and line up a job in advance from their home countries, while EU citizens can often line up an English teaching job locally in Poland. Many English teachers share an apartment with co-workers or other English teachers in Poland.

A good hourly wage affords English teachers to live a comfortable life.  Schools typically offer around 20-30 hours per week of work, leaving you plenty of opportunities to travel and explore.

Top job markets for English teaching jobs in Poland include Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, Gdansk, and Kraków.

However, there are schools that will hire non-EU citizens and will help them get a work permit to work legally in the country.

I took ITA's Online TEFL Course. My instructor was very helpful and supportive. She provided thorough feedback and encouragement. The tasks were a pleasure to complete and useful practice for future lesson planning. The culture in Poland is fascinating. Warsaw is a very cultural city with people from all over the world. It has a good, very clean public transportation/ Subway system and it's generally easy to get around. It has fantastic restaurants with all types of food.

I chose ITA because they were so helpful in my research process. They never made me feel like they were pushing it on me to sell something and actually encouraged me to research other options. My TEFL instructor was very helpful during the course and the life long job search guidance has been a great resource! I would absolutely recommend teaching in Poland! It is a great place and the people are amazing. It is also really affordable, which is an advantage compared to some of the other Western European countries. Lastly, the location is GREAT because it is so close to other countries, so travel is easy!

I thought ITA's Online TEFL Course well organized. Even though it was online, I still had access to an instructor should I have any questions. Because it was online, I could continue to work while taking the course. The practicum was my favorite part of the course. I found a fairly good job here in Poland. I work anywhere between 22 and 28 hours per week, with a 22-hour guarantee. Getting a work visa was fairly simple for me - my boss applied for work papers for me from the local government and found a place for me to live.
